Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form an agreement between you ("User") and Personal Statement Grader ("we", "us") regarding our essay evaluation services. By checking "I have read and agree" during registration, or by otherwise using the service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Disclaimer in full.

If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, please stop registering or using the service immediately.

2. Service Description

We provide AI-powered evaluation of undergraduate application Personal Statements, including scoring, dimensional analysis, revision suggestions, and revision-comparison reports. All results are algorithmically generated and provided for reference only; they do not constitute any admission promise, enrollment guarantee, or professional consulting advice.

We may adjust service features, content, and form as operationally needed, with reasonable notice via site announcements.

3. Account Registration & Security

You must register with a valid email address and keep your credentials secure. Losses caused by your voluntary disclosure of credentials or by fraud are your responsibility; notify us immediately if your account is compromised.

You are responsible for all activity under your account. Accounts are personal and may not be transferred, lent, or sold.

4. Credits, Pricing & Payment

The service is credit-based: you purchase credits first, then spend them on evaluations. Credits are virtual goods usable only within this site; they cannot be withdrawn as cash, transferred, or exchanged for currency.

Credit costs and prices are clearly displayed before order submission. Payments are processed by third-party channels (e.g., WeChat Pay); personal information involved in payment is handled per the channel's privacy policy and our Privacy Policy.

5. Refunds

If an evaluation fails due to system faults and produces no report, the consumed credits are automatically refunded in full to your account.

Credits for successfully delivered reports are deemed consumed and non-refundable. For unused topped-up balances, you may request a refund via the contact method in Section 12; verified refunds are returned via the original payment path within 15 business days.

6. User Content & Intellectual Property

Intellectual property in essays and other content you submit ("User Content") remains yours or the original right holder's. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to process User Content solely for providing the evaluation service. We do not use User Content for model training, public display, or any other purpose.

You warrant that submitted content is your original work or duly authorized, and does not infringe any third party's copyright, privacy, or other rights. Claims or liabilities arising from User Content are your sole responsibility.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You must not: (1) submit others' essays as your own or use the service for any form of academic dishonesty; (2) reverse-engineer, decompile, extract, or bulk-harvest our evaluation framework, prompts, or scoring logic by automated means; (3) attack, scan, or interfere with our systems; (4) use the service for any unlawful activity; (5) resell or sublicense the service.

Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination without refund of consumed credits, and we reserve the right to pursue legal remedies.

8. Minors

The service targets college-application scenarios. Users under 18 should register, use the service, and make payments with a guardian's knowledge and consent. Guardians bear corresponding responsibility for minors' activities.

9. Service Changes, Interruption & Termination

Temporary interruptions due to maintenance, upgrades, network failures, or force majeure will be announced in advance where possible and restored promptly; we are not liable for resulting indirect losses.

You may request account deletion. Upon deletion, essays and evaluation records are deleted or anonymized (except transaction records retained as required by law), and unused credits are handled per Section 5.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect damages or loss of expected benefits (including unsatisfactory application outcomes) arising from use or inability to use the service.

Our aggregate liability for any dispute shall not exceed the total service fees you actually paid to us in the 12 months preceding the dispute.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the operator of this site is established.

Disputes arising from these Terms or from use of the service shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation; failing that, either party may bring the dispute before the competent court of the jurisdiction where the operator of this site is established.

12. Amendments & Contact

We may amend these Terms from time to time. Amended Terms take effect upon publication on this page; material changes will be prominently flagged. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
